Make your tacos crispy and more fun to eat! Low-carb baked beef tacos are really easy twist on a classic recipe.

    Baked Beef Tacos

    What Are Baked Tacos

Tacos have to be one of the best food things ever invented. Spicy meat, cheese, and crispy lettuce in a tortilla – yes, please!

    Baked Beef Tacos

Most of the time, tacos are served in either a crispy or soft shell that you can hold in your hand. Baked tacos are a wee bit different. Baked tacos are filled your favorite taco meat and cheese, then the tortillas are folded and baked.

The result is a crispy shell with lots of melted cheese inside of it! It’s the best kind of compromise if you can’t decide whether you want a hard or soft shell.

    Shopping List

Before you make the Low Carb Baked Beef Tacos, this is what you’ll need from the store. All of the exact ingredient amounts are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

    Baked Beef Tacos Ingredients

    • Ground Beef
    • Onion
    • Shredded Cheese
    • Keto Tortillas
    • Garlic Powder
    • Onion Powder
    • Oregano
    • Cumin
    • Chili Powder

    Ingredient Substitutes

There are a few ways that you can change things in this recipe to save yourself time or to make it taste differently the next time. If you make any changes, please let me know.

    Baked Beef Tacos

    • Ground Beef – Make it with shredded beef or ground chorizo.
    • White Onion – Use yellow onion or onion powder instead of chopping up onions.
    • Spices – Save time and use a few teaspoons of your favorite keto-friendly taco seasoning blend.

    Best Meat For Tacos

Is there a specific type of meat that’s best for tacos? No, there isn’t.

    Baked Beef Tacos

Feel free to use your favorite type of meat in the tacos. In fact, this is a great way to use up leftover keto Chipotle chicken or save yourself time and use shredded rotisserie chicken.

Or make meatless tacos. Fill the tacos with some cauliflower rice, mushrooms, zucchini, and lots of cheese. Then, bake them enjoy!

    Keto Taco Toppings

What do you like to add to your tacos? I kept these simple so that you can have room to be as creative as you want!

    Baked Beef Tacos

These baked tacos are filled with just beef, onion, and cheese. Fill the tacos with some diced tomatoes and cauliflower rice.

After they’re baked, add some shredded lettuce and sliced avocados to them. Then, dip them in some cream for a finishing touch!

    Storing Them

Baked beef tacos fit in perfectly with your weekly meal prep. Store the baked tacos in an airtight food storage container.

    Baked Beef Tacos

Place them in the refrigerator and they will stay fresh for about three days. The trick is to keep them crispy.

You can eat them cold, but if you want to heat them up, I suggest using a skillet or an air fryer. If you use the microwave, they will soften.

    Making Them

Here are the step-by-step pictures of the process that you’ll follow to make this filling and delicious low-carb baked beef tacos. All of the ingredients and instructions are located in the printable recipe card just a little bit further below.

    Prep Time: 5 minutes
    Cook Time: 30 minutes
    Servings: 8

    Directions

    Browning the ground beef

Begin to brown the ground beef in a large skillet. Once cooked through, drain any excess grease.

Add the dry seasonings to the skillet. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside for now.

Filling the tortillas with beef, onions, and cheese

Spray 1 cooking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

Take a tortilla and spread the seasoned beef on one side. Top with chopped onion. Sprinkle cheese on the other side, then fold the tortilla over to create a taco.

    Baked Beef Tacos

Place the tacos on the baking sheet. Spray the tops with additional cooking spray.

Place another cooking sheet on top of the tacos, to keep them flat.

    Baked Beef Tacos

Bake at 400 degrees F. for 15-17 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden brown.

Remove and let cool slightly before serving. ENJOY!
