    A bowl of sweet and tangy keto BLT coleslaw is the perfect side dish. It’s made with fresh ingredients and bursts with a dance of flavors.

    What Is A BLT

    A BLT is a popular sandwich and it stands for bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Tomatoes are a bit higher in carbs, so it’s best to add them to recipes with other ingredients. 

    Scooping coleslaw 

    There are just three grams net carbs in each serving of this tasty coleslaw. You’ll keep the carb count lower by using lots of low-carb veggies and spices. This coleslaw will make six servings and I only used one cup of tomatoes in the entire dish. 

    I also only added 1/3 a cup of bacon, but that’s so low in carbs that you can add more if you want.

    Keto BLT Coleslaw Ingredients

    • Coleslaw Mix
    • Cherry Tomatoes
    • Bacon Pieces 
    • Mayonnaise
    • Apple Cider Vinegar
    • Sugar-Free Honey
    • Chopped Fresh Parsley 
    • Ground Mustard Powder 

    Ingredient Substitutions

    Keto BLT Coleslaw

    • Coleslaw Mix – you can shred any type of lettuce that you like, as long as it is finely chopped. 
    • Mayonnaise – sour cream is a perfect substitute 
    • Apple Cider Vinegar – Either white vinegar or white balsamic vinegar will taste delicious 

    Best Tomatoes for BLT Coleslaw

    I cut cherry tomatoes in half for the colesaw. When it comes to a salad, either cherry or grape tomatoes are perfect and you can use them interchangeably.

    Cherry tomatoes have more juice inside, so they are messier when you slice them. If you don’t want to slice or chop tomatoes, then just throw in some grape tomatoes. They are so tiny that you don’t have to slice them.

    I always associate coleslaw as a cookout or BBQ side dish. You can easily make a big bowl of it and feed a crowd!

    And since there are three grams net carbs in each serving, you can add plenty of low-carb dishes to the table with it. In fact, keto salmon burgers with tomato cream sauce is the perfect entree to go with the coleslaw. 

    If you want to start out with a soup, try it with chicken and cauliflower rice soup. It’s very light but has a savory broth that warms you up. 

    A bowl of Zuppa Toscana soup will also taste divine with the tangy coleslaw. 

    How Long Does Coleslaw Last 

    Whether it is homemade or storebought, coleslaw will stay fresh in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Store it in an airtight container.

    I do not recommend freezing coleslaw. It changes the texture too much. 

    Making It

    Net Carbs: 3 net carbs per serving

    Directions:

    Add the coleslaw mix, cherry tomatoes, bacon and parsley to a large mixing bowl, and toss to combine well.

    Chopped Tomatoes

    Mix together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar free honey, mustard powder and salt and pepper to taste in a small bowl.

    Adding Sugar-Free Honey

    Pour the dressing mixture into the large mixing bowl, and stir to combine well.

    Serve immediately, or chill before serving if desired.
