    What Is Tres Leches

The word tres leches literally translates from Spanish to 3 milks in English. It’s also called pan (cake) tres leches.

    Low-Carb Tres Leches Cake

Traditional pan tres leches is a super-moist sponge cake that is soaked in three different types of milk – evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk.

    Tres Leches Cake

The most iconic and noticeable thing about tres leches cake is all the air bubbles inside of it. It’s also usually topped with fluffy and airy whipped cream and some type of fruit or cinnamon.

I stayed true to the classic look, taste, and feel, all while keeping it low-carb. In fact, there are only four grams net carbs in each serving! This tres leches cake makes 16 slices.

Do you have a party coming up soon? Or maybe you are in the mood for something sweet but don’t want to cheat on your keto diet.

Either way, this cake is the perfect thing to make!

Store leftover cake in the refrigerator for up to three days. Make sure you keep the air off of it. Wrap it in aluminum foil or keep it in a container that has a lid.

If you want to freeze tres leches cake, I suggest freezing it without the icing on top. Then, you can thaw it in the fridge overnight, warm it back up, and add the icing last.

    Gluten-Free Tres Leches Cake

To make tres leches cake gluten-free and low-carb, I used almond flour. Please, remember to use almond flour and not almond meal. They are sold next to each other in the store, so it’s easy to get them confused.

Almond flour is made by grinding up almonds without the skins. Almond meal contains those skins.

If you accidentally use almond meal, it will still work. Your cake will just have a grainy texture.

    Easy Keto Cake

The whipped cream icing is one of the best parts of this low-carb tres leches cake recipe. It’s a perfect low-carb icing recipe to use on any other type of keto-friendly cake you bake. Add it on top of chocolate chip cake or even as icing for keto brownies.

This tres leches cake recipe will taste delicious with some homemade ice cream, a cup of coffee, and a keto pumpkin donut.

This is an easy cake recipe that you’ll enjoy any time of year. It’s not made with any seasonal ingredients, so make it for birthday parties or anytime that you’re craving something sweet.
