If you or your kids love cheese, then they will really like this keto bacon egg and cheese grilled cheese sandwich! It’s crispy and cheesy and oh so good!

What Is A Bacon Egg And Cheese Grilled Cheese

This is basically the best kind of breakfast sandwich you can make. Imagine a grilled cheese.

Keto Bacon Egg and Cheese Grilled Cheese

The bread is toasted, the cheese is all melted and gooey. Now, add some scrambled eggs and bacon to the cheese.

It just went from a tasty lunch to a yummy breakfast!

This is the best way to make a breakfast sandwich. All of the ingredients are perfectly hot.

The bread is hot and crispy too! You don’t have to worry about the toast getting cold while you fry the eggs.

Plus, it’s as easy as a grilled cheese sandwich.

    Shopping List

Before you make a keto bacon egg and cheese grilled cheese, this is what you’ll need from the store. All of the exact ingredient amounts are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Adding salt and pepper to a bowl of raw eggs

    • Bread
    • Bacon
    • Butter
    • Eggs
    • Milk
    • Salt and Pepper
    • Cheese

    Ingredient Substitutes

If you make any changes to this recipe, let me know in the comments. Here are some of the easiest ingredient swaps (or additions) you can make.

Keto Bacon Egg and Cheese Grilled Cheese

    • Keto Bread – Use chaffles or make keto breakfast quesadillas with zero carb tortillas
    • Bacon – I used pork bacon, but turkey bacon works great too
    • Butter – Coconut oil is the perfect substitute
    • Cheese – I used cheddar cheese, but any kind of cheese, as long as it is sliced thinly, will work perfectly.

    Best Keto Bread

What is the best type of bread to use when you’re making grilled cheese? Any type of bread will work for this easy sandwich recipe.

You should always look at the ingredients label before buying bread labeled as “keto-friendly.” Many companies use unhealthy ingredients as a way to increase the fiber so that the net carbs are lower.

My favorite kind of low-carb bread is from Great Low Carb. Each slice has 1 gram of net carbs.

It’s made with wheat protein isolate, which tastes like regular bread. If you need a gluten-free option, try Cauliflower sandwich rounds.

They are made with cauliflower, eggs, parmesan cheese, and nutritional yeast.

You can also make your own sandwich bread. Try this breakfast sandwich with two slices of Keto Protein Everything Bagels.

All those spices complement the egg and cheese.

    Breakfast Grilled Cheese

This is the best way to make breakfast, especially if you have a bunch of eggs to cook. I’ve used eggs to make other breakfast recipes, too.

If your kids like to have fun with their food, make some Keto Breakfast Nachos or Keto Breakfast Tacos.

And if you want some more classic options, try my Keto Inside Out Omelette with Sausage and Peppers. It’s full of healthy fiber.

For something more comforting, you can never go wrong with Egg Loaf French Toast.

    Storing It

If you want to speed up the breakfast process, I suggest making the eggs and bacon ahead of time. Store the cooked eggs and bacon in an airtight food storage container and eat them within three days.

Then, all you have to do is arrange the sandwiches and grill them. Breakfast will be ready in mere minutes.

    Making It

Here are some step-by-step pictures of the process that you’ll follow to make this filling and delicious keto bacon egg and cheese grilled cheese sandwich recipe.

    Prep Time: 15 minutes
    Cook Time: 10 minutes
    Total Time: 25 minutes
    Yield: 4 sandwiches

    Adding butter to the skillet

In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, salt, and pepper. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the eggs, scrambling with a spatula until they are fully cooked. Set aside.

Placing a slice of cheese on the sandwich

On one side of the bread, place a slice of cheese, followed by ¼ of the scrambled eggs, two slices of bacon, and another slice of cheese. Top with another slice of bread.

    Putting butter on bread

Butter the outward facing pieces of bread with the butter. Place a griddle over medium heat. When the griddle is hot, put the sandwiches onto the griddle and allow to cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until the first side is brown.

Flip the sandwiches and tent with aluminum foil, reducing the heat to medium low. Cook until the second side is brown and the cheese is melted.
