Need a quick and healthy dessert that kids will love? Whip up some keto peanut butter mousse! It’s high-protein and sugar-free.
Keto Peanut Butter Mousse
There really aren’t many excuses holding you back from making this easy keto dessert. There are only six easy ingredients – and they easy to find at the grocery store if you need to restock. It’s a no-bake recipe.
If you have a stand mixer, it’s even easier than ever to whip up this fluffy mousse!
The best thing about this dessert is that it’s a really low-carb way to stay full in between meals. Since peanut butter and cream cheese is both high in fat, it won’t take much mousse to fill you up.
Peanut Butter Mousse
This recipe makes six servings, and there are just 3 grams net carbs in each serving. If you eat a small bowl of this mousse after lunch, you will stay full until dinner time!
If you are allergic or sensitive to peanuts, then replace the peanut butter with your favorite sugar-free or low-carb nut or seed butter. Sunflower butter is a fantastic choice and tastes delicious as a mousse.
Don’t skip the sugar-free chocolate chips, especially if you enjoy chocolate! My kids love chocolate so much that it inspired me to make Oreo chaffles.
Peanut Butter and Cream Cheese
Peanut butter and cream cheese actually go really well together. When you whip them together with the confectioner’s sugar substitute and heavy whipping cream, the mouse becomes light and fluffy. It’s such a satisfying and indulgent treat.
I love using cream cheese in other dessert recipes. It makes a high-fat and healthy frosting for keto pumpkin carrot cake.
Easy Mousse Recipe
This recipe is super simple to make! It’s so easy to make this mousse that your kids can help make it after school. In fact, I love letting my kiddos enjoy a bowl of this peanut butter mousse after school.
It has so much protein in it, that it keeps them full until dinner time. They don’t know it, but this dessert is actually good for them.
Can You Freeze Mousse
I don’t recommend trying to freeze mousse. If you do, it will harden too much and be really difficult to scoop out. Then, when you let it thaw, the light and fluffy texture isn’t so light anymore.
Thankfully, this is a really easy recipe to make. You can just whip up a batch whenever the mood strikes you! If you happen to have leftovers, store them in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator for up to three days.
