    What Is Teriyaki Steak

Imagine the tastiest steak from your favorite steakhouse. No, imagine that it’s made with keto-friendly ingredients in the marinade.

    Keto Teriyaki Steak

Keto teriyaki steak is a marinated steak with both sweet and umami flavors that has just four grams net carbs in each serving. This recipe includes a homemade teriyaki marinade that you can reuse on chicken, pork, or shrimp.

It will come out juicy and flavorful, every single time!

    Shopping List

Before you make this easy cast iron skillet steak, this is what you’ll need from the store. All of the exact ingredient amounts are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Ingredients needed to make Keto teriyaki steak

    • New York Strip Steaks
    • Olive Oil
    • Green Beans
    • Onion
    • Soy Sauce
    • White Cooking Wine
    • Swerve Brown Sugar Substitute
    • Minced Garlic
    • Ginger Paste
    • Rice Vinegar
    • Sesame Seeds

    Ingredient Substitutions

This is a really basic recipe with lots of room for customizing and changes. If you change the recipe, let me know in the comments. Here are some of the easiest ingredient swaps you can make in keto teriyaki steak.

A skillet of Keto teriyaki steak and green beans

    • Steak – Use your favorite type of meat. This will also taste delicious on salmon.
    • Green Beans – Replace them with your favorite low-carb veggie. Broccoli is a popular choice with steak.
    • Soy Sauce – To keep it gluten-free, use coconut aminos instead.
    • White Cooking Wine – Any dry wine will work.

Best Type of Steak To Fry In a Skillet

I used New York Strip steaks to make my teriyaki steak. You can use any type of steak to make this recipe. Just remember that if you use a thicker steak, it will take longer to cook completely.

And if you use a tougher cut, you should marinate it for a longer time to allow the acids in the marinade to break down the meat.

This recipe will taste delicious with sirloin or rib eye. And also use your food thermometer to check the internal temperature. A medium steak should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145F.

    Keto Chinese Sides

Keto teriyaki steak is one of my favorite Chinese entrees of all time. The marinade fills the steak with so much flavor!

It’s actually pretty easy to make a Chinese dinner at home and still stay within your macros.

A skillet with two teriyaki steaks and green beans

Start out with keto egg roll in a bowl. It tastes like your favorite egg rolls and nourishes your body with nutrients. Then, add some cauliflower rice and sesame ginger broccoli slaw to the table. Now your dinner is complete!

    Storage

This is the perfect thing to make for your weekly meal prep! As the steak sets in the fridge, the marinade soaks more into the meat and enhances all the flavors! Here’s how to store it so it lasts.

To meal prep with keto teriyaki steak, place it in an airtight container. Keep it refrigerated for up to three days.

    How To Freeze

You can also freeze the teriyaki steak. Just wrap each cooked streak in foil or plastic wrap and place it in a freezer bag. Then keep it frozen for up to six months.
