What Are Keto Nachos
It’s no secret that most classic nacho recipes aren’t ket0-friendly. Tortilla chips are either made from flour or corn – and both are major sources of carbs.
Keto nachos have the same spicy flavors, but instead of regular tortilla chips, I used low-carb chips. This recipe also omits the beans, since they aren’t a good idea on keto.
There’s a lot of room for you to be creative and add your favorite nacho toppings! Keep reading and I’ll share a list of different keto-friendly things to add to your nachos.

Ingredient Substitutes
There are a few different ingredient swaps you can make in these keto nachos. If you change the recipe, let me know. I’d love to hear!
- Chips – Use pork rinds as the crunchy base.
- Ground Beef – You can replace it with either ground chicken, turkey, or crumbled chorizo.
- Roma Tomato – Any kind of small tomato will work.
- Cheddar Cheese – Shred your favorite kind of semi-hard cheese. Try it with pepper jack for a bit of heat.

Best Keto Tortilla Chips
I made my own tortilla chips by slicing and baking low-carb tortillas. It’s super easy!
If you want to buy some pre-made tortilla chips, read the ingredients first and make sure they aren’t sneaking some carbs in. To make homemade keto tortilla chips, you’ll need to cut some keto-friendly tortillas.
La Banderita Carb Counters tortillas are my favorite kind to use. The Keto Tortilla Company also makes some delicious tortillas that will keep you within your macro limits.
Keto Mexican Recipes
This is a very filling lunch or dinner. It will also taste perfect with a keto copycat Chipotle chicken burrito, too!
Serve the nachos with some keto Mexican cauliflower rice. The flavors are perfect together!
For something a little more fun, make some keto chili lime tortilla chips or keto jalapeño chips with sausage and queso dip. Then, for dessert, a Low-Carb Tres Leches Cake is perfect.
Making Them
Here are the step by step pictures that you’ll need to make this filling and delicious keto chili cheese nachos recipe. The exact measurements and instructions are located in the printable recipe card just a little bit further below.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20-25 minutes
Servings: 4
Net Carbs: 5 net carbs per serving
Directions
Add the ground beef and onion to a skillet over medium high heat. Saute until the meat is browned and the onions have softened. Drain any excess grease.
Reduce the heat to medium, and stir in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano and salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine, and saute for another minute.
Pour in the diced tomatoes and chopped roma tomato, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Place the tortilla pieces into an air fryer basket, and spray with cooking spray.
Cook at 400 degrees until the chips are browned and crispy.
Place the chips onto a plate or platter, and top with the chili mixture.
Sprinkle on the cheese and allow it to melt.
Garnish with green onions before serving if desired.

- 1/2 pound Ground Beef
- 1/2 Onion chopped
- 2 tsp Minced Garlic
- 2 tsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Oregano
- 1 Roma Tomato chopped
- 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1/4 cup Green Onions chopped
Instructions
