Your beef stew game just got better! Low-carb Greek beef stew has turnips instead of potatoes and is spiced with cinnamon.
Low-Carb Beef Stew
Even though you can eat beef stew all year long, it really hits differently in the colder months. Pull on your comfy hoody and simmer this stew on the stove.
As it simmers, your family will smell the sweet tomatoes and spicy cinnamon and ask you when dinner will be ready!
The best thing about these spices is that they really do taste better the next day! Save some stew for your meal prep later in the week. The spices will soak deeper into the turnips and meat and give it an incredible flavor.
Greek Beef Stew
Can you make Greek stew with lamb? Yes, you certainly can! A lot of traditional Greek recipes use lamb as the protein on choice. It will give it a distinct flavor, so make sure you like lamb before you replace it.
You can also turn this into a chicken stew with just a few tweaks. Use chopped chicken breast instead of beef and chicken or veggie broth instead of beef broth. The rest of the flavors and ingredients will taste delicious with the chicken!
Greek Stew
This stew is popular with kids and anyone that isn’t usually a fan of low-carb or keto recipes. The flavors are so pronounced and full-bodied that they won’t even be able to tell that you used turnips instead of potatoes!
If you have some really picky eaters that don’t like turnips, you can even use cauliflower florets instead. Since it’s a more common vegetable, they might like it more.
Do you love Greek or Mediterranean food? Then you might like my Keto Mediterranean Tuna Salad too. It has lots of Baltic flavors, and it’s a 5-minute recipe.
Keto Stew
Stew is usually pretty low-carb already, so you don’t have to make a lot of changes to keep the carbs in check. This recipe only has 6 grams net carbs in each serving. If you need to cut back on the carbs a bit more, add fewer tomatoes.
Soups are the perfect things to cook when it’s cold outside. After you make stew, make a pot of Creamy Low-Carb Lemon Chicken Soup.
It’s one of my favorite things to eat when I’m feeling under the weather. For a quicker soup for lunch, make a thick and creamy Keto Broccoli Cheddar Soup.
It’s my kids’ favorite soup.
What To Eat With Beef Stew
This beef stew is incredibly filling. You don’t really need to serve anything on the side with it. But if you want to, I have plenty of recipes you can choose from.
Keto Loaded Cauliflower Rice Balls will give you something crispy to eat along with the hot beef stew. Or add some Keto Bacon and Cheese Biscuits to the table (kids love them).
Loaded Cauliflower Mash is another favorite because it has so much cheese and bacon in it! For something more classic and recognizable, eat this stew with some Gluten-Free Italian Breadsticks. You can even dip them into the stew.
